Terms of Service

Effective: March 11, 2026

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or using CipherMind ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use CipherMind. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. Your Account

  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials, PIN, and recovery codes.
  • You must provide a valid email address for verification.
  • One account per email address. One active device per account.
  • We are not responsible for data loss resulting from forgotten PINs, lost recovery codes, or Panic Wipe activation.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use CipherMind to:

  • Send spam, bulk messages, or automated content.
  • Harass, threaten, impersonate, or abuse other users.
  • Distribute malware, exploits, or any harmful content.
  • Violate any applicable local, national, or international law.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App or its servers.
  • Circumvent rate limits, abuse the API, or disrupt service availability.

5. Encryption & Privacy

  • CipherMind uses end-to-end encryption (Signal Protocol). We cannot read your messages or listen to your calls.
  • Because messages are encrypted, we cannot moderate message content. Users are solely responsible for content they send.
  • Our full privacy practices are described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Content Ownership

You retain ownership of all content you create and share through CipherMind. We do not claim any rights over your messages, media, or files. We cannot access them due to end-to-end encryption.

7. Service Availability

  • CipherMind is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind.
  • We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
  • We may perform maintenance, updates, or changes that temporarily affect service.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CipherMind and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. This includes, but is not limited to, loss of data, loss of profits, or unauthorized access resulting from compromised user credentials.

9. Account Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time. This permanently removes all server-side data.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice.
  • Upon termination, your encryption keys and queued messages are permanently deleted from our servers.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through an in-app notification. Continued use of CipherMind after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
